Is summer break over yet? Okay, I’m not that sick of entertaining my kids, but some days? The chorus of ‘Im BOOOORREEED’ really starts to grate.
The trick, with my kids at least, is to keep them engaged and their imaginations fed. Lots of art, lots of outside time and as much make-believe as possible. My daughter has a ton of dress up clothes, but my son is relegated to either wiggling into her Snow White costume or wearing his elephant costume from last Halloween. But no more, because I’m definitely going to be making him a Dino tail (don’t worry, the girl child will get one too!)! This tutorial from Running With Scissors is simple and fun and the possibilities are endless!
Supplies:
-
1/2 to 3/4 yard main fabric– pretty much any fabric that’s not stretchy (this yellow is polyester lining)
-
1/4 yard spike fabric
-
5″ velcro
-
Polyfil batting (small bag)
Skill level:
Beginner.
