Supplies
- Any Sewing Machine (we recommend the Janome Skyline S5)
- Zipper foot
- Walking or Even Feed foot (optional, but the thick layers of fabric and batting will be a challenge without it)
- ½ yard EACH of NINE coordinating 44″+ wide quilting weight cottons for the top, bottom and side patchwork.
- 1 yard of a 44″+ wide quilting weight fabric for the piping; we used Asparagus from the Designer Solids collection by FreeSpirit
- 4½ yards of ⅜” piping cord
- 1 yard of 54″+ high loft polyester batting
- ONE 5″ deep x 24″ diameter foam circle
- ½ yard of 1½” cotton webbing for the handle
- Fabric spray adhesive; we used Therm-O-Web Spray ‘n’ Bond
- All-purpose thread to match fabric
- See-through ruler
- Fabric pen or pencil
- Iron and ironing board
- Scissors and/or rotary cutter and mat
- Seam gauge
- Seam ripper
- Straight pins
- Hand sewing needle
- ONE 6″+ long straight upholstery needle for tufting
- ONE small spool of waxed button/upholstery thread for tufting
