Too Short to Colorblocked Pants Tutorial

March 7, 2014 by Heather Damron

My son is tall and skinny and either pants are long enough and fall off, or fit in the waist and he looks like Steve Urkel (Google it, kids).

This clever tutorial from Delia Creates shows how to use the popular color blocking trend to eke some extra life out of kids pants!

Supplies:

  • 1/4 – 1/3 yard of contrasting twill or bottom weight fabric (depending on how tall you need your colorblocked portion to be)
  • matching or contrasting thread
  • ruler, sewing scissors, etc.
  • pants to upcycle

Skill level:

Beginner
