My daughter is two and is totally into her baby dolls. This isn’t something I forced on her – in fact, most of her toys starting out were hand me downs from her brother. But a grandparent gave her a dolly and the seed was planted. Now she’s obsessed. We haven’t gotten into American Girl Dolls yet…but I have a feeling it’s inevitable. I’m so glad to know there are some great tutorials out there for making rather than buying the super expensive doll accessories! For instance, this fabulous tutorial from The Crafting Chicks for Doll Bedding. It’s completely cute, for a fraction of the price.
Supplies:
- 1 1/2 yards of fabric (she used 4 different fabrics, but you will need 1 whole yard for the comforter and the mattress. The extra half yard is just for the pillows)
- thin quilt batting
- some ribbon, buttons, and any other notions you’d like
- a sewing machine, thread and straight pins
Skill level:
Beginner
