I’m going to cut the top off just under the bust and make the skirt. I’ve done something similar with a long sleeve t-shirt on top and used the front panel from a boxy men’s band t-shirt and extra fabric to make the skirt. Love it as a winter tunic with leggings. Love this idea for the coming spring as I live in Australia.

On the side of the pattern piece it reads ” longest length x 1/2″ “should that be plus 1/2″ instead of times 1/2″ ? If my granddaughter’s waist is 25″, I would have 18 3/4 ” across and the length I would like is 13″. What would I cut the piece? How much did you cut off the tank top? Thanks for your assistance!

Fold your fabric in half (the opposite way of the stretch). Lay your pattern piece so the “fold” part is on the fold. Then cut.
